Description：Inhibitor of chymotrypsin-like activity of the multicatalytic proteinase complex (MPC; 20S proteasome) in HT4 cells. This peptide is also the first inhibitor reported so far inducing the accumulation of ubiquitinylated proteins in neuronal cells. Furthermore, this peptide's aldehyde component can cause massive apoptosis in murine leukemia L1210 cells. Therefore, proteasome inhibitors can be regarded as potential anti-neoplastic agents.
